Penny describes her and Perry's super project:

“After two years of planning and design work, we began demolition of our old house on November 1, 2006. Once the excavator took the first bite, the site started looking more and more like the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Three days and thirteen dumpsters later, the first phase was finished. The next phase, however, took a little longer.

“Most of the building was done by Perry with the help of our friend Tim Reece. I was the part-time laborer on my days off from my regular job, which I appreciate a whole lot more after working construction. It is hard work! From foundation to framing to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, sheet rock, finish work and painting, almost two years passed. Living on site in a 30' fifth wheel RV was fun, almost.

“On October 12, 2008, with Laurie and Bonnie's help, we moved into our new home. The fifth wheel is a distant memory.”
